Through the Shadows

I wish it was a bit more fun Why are we always on the run? Working through the day and night Fight until we see the light Wish you would tell me your plan 'Coz it's no longer according to mine I still strive to be your best fan A little bit more of you to shine It all feels like a never ending mess All remnants of a frustrated case Maybe you're leading me through the maze I feel a little doubtful in the chase. But you're always there hidden from sight Faith is so blind, lemme close my eyes Leading me through shadows and light You're the only truth in my world of lies. Disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people Don't hunt for food anymore, its now the hunt for success that's for sale You know it this time I wasn't even cheating You saw how I gave my all How many more heart breaks greeting How many more times do you wanna see me fall? I still believe in you and only you Sometimes it's just way too dark Could it not be a bit more easy too? Doe...

18+2

Yes, I know it's all gone wrong Now I'm left with the broken songs; Instead of fighting all day long, Should have tried to make the sweet times more prolong! We are all tired of masking smiles My dreams look hazy hiding away  Just like a three million more miles I still look away, sighing and lying it's 'kay! No longer an immature teen Expectations in my mind are too keen Wish there was no body to lean The fake moments are never really seen. Eighteen and two long years more, All I think 'bout in my dreams and nightmares Makes my head a bit too sore All of these resembling a miserable bunch of uncertain dares. Counting up the ticks on the to-do list I made Wish I could be skilled enough to get paid Even the hopeful words now seem like a shooting spade! And every time I feel like it's way too much said; Then I'm gushed out of the building of this old city Now I miss that awful evaluation or maybe  Just a random pat on the back rather than pity Is it scary tha...

Diary of a Bookworm

Sneaking over Holmes’ shoulder I silently munch into words, And crawl onto the book holder Riding on the Chariot of Gods; Defeating Jules Verne I go round the world safe and sound In mere a week and reach the Baskerville’s hound. The ‘Famous Five’ and ‘Secret Seven’ make the best of my friend Dozing off against Shakespeare I meet my day’s end. But my Tuesdays are no usual as I spend my time with Morrie And have my bit of lunch with Anne in the War’s red glory, Then I board the Train to Pakistan And peep into a Brief History of Time as I learn The secrets of Narnia and its magic; The tales of Oliver Twist makes me pale and sick. The Diary of a Wimpy kid amuses me the most As I spend my leisure on Monte Cristo’s coast. I am a captive on a land Of print on paper in my hand, But do not be bothered, do not fear ‘coz I am a blissful captive here. Also Check out: Miss Ya

Lone Light

Lost in the city of star Found the lone glory of the Moon. Away you took your breath at noon, To play in that grave where you are. Often you have me for the walk, Looking in old grass with your feet; Come on the good clear summer street Lest you could hear an earnest knock! Never you had to break the tale, Nor could I choose to measure the time  Neither too close! no sad night-time Around me, lies an old black trail. Wild wanderer, from my past night, Never a star with snow and mist. A light from which I stood a fist Across the blizzard and past the fight. The sun was gold. The snow too gray, Pale as a cloud the morning met; Eyes like a full day in the net, Making all sweet part of this day. View us on Youtube:  Shreya's Poetry Also Check out: Miss Ya

Busy-Streets

Lost in the crowds of the busy street Misty eyes as they rung the final bell Turn back time where they used to meet, Forgotten lanes lead to the pain of hell. Remember those barren paths you left behind? How they flourish the way they never happened before, Imagine those moments that you never captured? How they put a smile even when you thought it was too hard! They took him instead of her Oh my dreaded tracks, you love to fade Flames so hot they took him afar Mourning peace bestowed upon the dead.   Busy streets, cars still go on, Miles apart they left me a bit torn.

House of Mirrors

When I stand before the mirror It's like a glimpse of illusions I see Having goosebumps of horror Its hard to believe whether its me! 'Cause there are a hundred faces Staring blankly in the bright light I see a gleeful smile through braces; Jumping with delight Or an anguished face tying the laces, Getting prepared for the fight. In the cold and pale moonlight Its all a different story With depression at its height And the quickly fading glory Like dew drops on autumn's yellow, I see tears on her rosy cheeks Like a ghostly figure she mixes with the pillow How desperately its only happiness she seeks--- And she stumbles down the stairs With the pang of separation in heart, For whom the most she cares But alas away they all dart As the sun rays breakthrough The window panes show a new face Learning from past it grew With absolutely no sorrow as a trace. When daylight hugs her embrace Stars shine in her eyes Wind kisses her red cheeks With t...

Chaotic Night

Sliding up the blinds light fills in Yet a bit dull let the sunshine decide The storm has passed silence laughs Yeah a bit anxious as broken hearts collide No matter what thoughts never lie The world much darker than I thought it would be Raindrops streaming tears run dry The walls much harder than I expected them to be! Lightening screams a distant affair Yeah a bit too loud let thunder decide The night is over or as they say Yeah a little too bright as the shades reside Come on not another guilty survivor's guide No not again I can relate too much Shattered words plastered back Words to communicate but don't they touch? Gale howls brushing past the panes Yeah looks deadly let the waves decide Might even walk through hell With a glistening smile nowhere to hide Hold on wait ,wait a little longer All along all I hear are endless sighs Wait till I'm washed away by the river of desires All through midnight I stare at the smiling lies. Snow whitens...

One Last Time

Close my eyes, thoughts run wild To places I've never seen Chasing the clouds, tunes go mild To countries I've never been All around the heavy doors Trapped yet smile through the rains Found my place on the sweaty floors Crushed yet laugh through the pains I've been flipping through the blank pages Chasing down the bookshelves I've been shuffling for long ages Counting past the twelves I've been sprinting through the roses Glimpsing down the bookmarks I've been dashing through the losses Swimming past the lusty sharks. All night long,I stare at us Feeling lost in the sea of stars Embracing the darkness,I gawk at the fuss You've set up too high the bars The only one I care 'bout And promise won't let you down Fear creeps in day in and day out Finding myself in the long lost town These stinky walls bring back time Shadows smiling from the past Juggling yet not falling apart yeah just like slime Hope that the memories forever ...

Cup of Change

You said it was over But it's not over yet,not over yet You promised that it was over You said you won't discriminate You promised you'll be different Thinking 'bout you lately Know your favorite is the red paint Tears that you chose not to see. Be it blonde, brunette, black or fade Or the catchy strings of red Be it wavy, plain, curled or straight It all makes the same braid Be it the brown, blue, green or hazel Or any other in the color palette Let's just focus on the story the eyes tell And burn all standards of beauty set; Let's hug the warmth of the heart And ditch those who've set bars Of height and weight that hurt The choice is not always his or hers. The grey cloud of greed Shaken up by the bright light of kindness The tiny granules of arrogance Washed up by the tides of curiosity Where nobody's scared out of the fence And can swim in the waves of diversity   Where every war of Colorado Is blown away by the breeze of p...

Best Times

Walking down the memories lane Hues of orange and yellow melting my heart Yeah might sound a little insane It's a shame,I thought we're growing apart Thinking 'about your scoldful words Staring at those lovely days Smiling through the paradise of birds Remember how we spent time by the bays? Those cute morning messages No matter whether I replied or not Thinking 'about how you always find ways To make me smile even if we fought Laughing at your silly jokes Miss how your happiness knows no bound Still annoyed at your playful jokes Wish to make it eternal and profound! Love how everytime your face lifts up Everytime something good happens to me Breaks my heart when you cover up When the misfortunate one is none other than me; Wish it was legal to beat up people Who find it amusing to make fun of you Miss those bedtime stories you used to tell So funny,it could make you smile too. Seeing your blissful smile Even on the darkest of nights Helps ...

Miss Ya

Miss your memories, miss your smell Miss the stories you used to tell, With your shine, with your rain How you washed away all the pain; Miss those lovely days When your sand used to kiss my feet, As I dated time by your bays Miss those turquoise waves that used to hit; Miss those starry nights Staring at your mesmerizing skies, Miss those lovely sights Now your breath is filled with sighs. Miss your cries on the leafy tops Your warm hugs that I used to feel, Miss your tears hidden as dew drops Your beauty that almost felt reel; Miss your charm in spring and fall Transformed to a rainbow paradise, Miss your voice when you used to call Through the crickets,it felt so nice. Miss your laugh when you used to sway And dance in the wintry nights, Miss your comfy lap I used to lay Watching the creative kites. Miss your embrace, miss your smiles Lost in the sphere of honks and breaks, Miss your beauty, lost in files Miss your ripples on your lakes. Miss ...

Moving On

Nice knowing you a heart throb away Intimidating quirks you have by the way May I know the regrets you have The insecurities it made to pave? Sighing at the dull gloomy night It's hard to tell when was the fight Staring high, high at the cloudy sky Glad we never bid goodbye It was hard, maybe not so tough It was smooth yet felt too rough Shadows linger in the dark hallway Lying every single moment of the day But we never saw it coming Lingering thoughts behind the humming Figuring it out,I warned to go slow Nevertheless it felt like a blow Change the way you look at it It still fails to change even by a tad bit We've come along a long way Got to tell so much yet prefer nothing to say Give up,give up you wont find the link All those years spent in a blink. You and I never felt the same And the blunt excuses, way too lame; Those long hours keeping awake Yeah was like bittersweet cake Holding on,the memories smile Hidden in those lost pages of the b...

BOO

Fumbling around to find my phone ring Gasping at it hearing a ping "I think I found my girl" So he does like another girl He must have never liked me Accept we are just friends and let it be "So tell me who it is" A lost chance I'll always miss "She's from school...I really like her I just dont know how to tell her" This has gone way too far "Dude just tell her" "I think it may not be the right time" It's okay my heart its gonna be fine "Just tell her you idiot"                            It reminds me of the pain of period My heart is shattered, tears dry Curl up in a corner I wanna die But why do I even care All bits of this friendship was a dare "I'm too nervous...lemme try on you?" Wow now have to deal with this A fake proposal a bliss What about the times we spent Those smiles and glances they meant? Maybe I'm overthinking "Okay...blurt out your thing " ...

FATHER'S DAY

Cheers to that special man Who set standards so high Of whom I would always be a fan Who cried when he saw me cry An epitome of love and strength Who never failed to be the role model And taught to strive for infinite length Who would always be on time without fail The coolest of all times The one who survived my stupidity The partner of my naughty crimes A live encyclopedia of homeland city Who happens to be the special hero Who knew everything Before whom I would always be a zero All my kingdoms belong to this king The co-author of all my thought The co-founder of my personality For me,a billion battles he fought A hidden mind of diversity He is the one,the most unsung The unnoticed and unpraised of all Who developed a storytelling tongue Someone who could never fall Striving to be the most valuable asset Sometimes like a guide's hand Fighting troubles of any rate Or simply just having my back. A zillion thanks will surely fall short For th...

MOTHER'S DAY

If I could give you gold Every time you saved me from cold If I could give you silver Each time you cured me from fever If I could present you diamond For the tears you shed for me If I could gift you sapphires For all those instances of helping me If I could give you rubies For the sacrifices and pains you've known If I could give you Pearls For the successful paths you've shown You would be the richest person Of all the twelve seasons Then you would possess a treasure that might reach the skies The worth of which would be a bit less than the perfect measure Of your kind and loving eyes.   But I have no Pearls and diamonds And I'm sure you're well aware What your poor child can give you Is only love, affection and care.

MOTIVATION

Walking with my eyes closed Walking with my hands open Walking with a warm heart Walking on the bridge broken Stumble upon some pebbles "Stop "they said but I will go Brushing through the thorns With my red hands but I will still go. Brushing past the venomous vine Covered in the stinky mosses Scraping my knees beside the pine Paying no heed to my losses "You can't" they said but I will go Strings of attachments holding me back Slowing my pace but I will still go. Ripping open the unknown path Thickly covered with twigs and traps Giving no thought to the aftermath Packing my wounds with wraps "You'll fail"they said but I will go Tearing apart the ropes of restrain Making me insane but I will still go. Traversing the unknown and unseen Fearing nothing beneath the glass bridge The desire to unravel seems too keen The path now appears clear with no crease "You'll die"they said but I will go With Society...
