Cup of Change

You said it was over
But it's not over yet,not over yet
You promised that it was over
You said you won't discriminate
You promised you'll be different
Thinking 'bout you lately
Know your favorite is the red paint
Tears that you chose not to see.

Be it blonde,brunette,black or fade
Or the catchy strings of red
Be it wavy,plain,curled or straight
It all makes the same braid
Be it the brown, blue, green or hazel
Or any other in the color palette
Let's just focus on the story the eyes tell
And burn all standards of beauty set;
Let's hug the warmth of the heart
And ditch those who've set bars
Of height and weight that hurt
The choice is not always his or hers.

The grey cloud of greed
Shaken up by the bright light of kindness
The tiny granules of arrogance
Washed up by the tides of curiosity
Where nobody's scared out of the fence
And can swim in the waves of diversity

Where every war of Colorado
Is blown away by the breeze of peace
Crystal clear in the wildest tornado
Where all the hatred seems to cease
Let's break all the walls
And mix the brown, black and white
Let's help to stand up whoever falls
And be together in the fight
Cause it's now or never
Let's stand for the cup
The cup which brings change forever.

  2. Your poetry is really vivid and as a beginner I am really inspired by your works, but does poetry have to be this long as mine are just 12 lines or close?

    1. Thank you Ayesha and poetry can be of any length...just an expression of your thoughts-no hardcoded rules

Perfect, Not Perfect

Behind closed doors when the curtain closes, Too many voices screaming through A few rooms extend to that of a million losses All they are obsessed with what was never true; Stumbling back falling in the globe of fake smiles Every bit so damn perfect ,never fails to leave cue, Expectations running ahead a million miles Leaving to deal with a state of Black and Blue! Falling back again ,pretending what we never saw Still making alive through thick and thin Invisible scratches on the pale skin, they like to draw  Hiding away from the world, away in the ripped jean. Perfect ,ever been so damn perfect Now it's scary to be the odd one out; Just like the fortune cookies burned beyond baked Never gets old what the fuss is all 'bout! That distant world of constant criticism All they do is judge at the first sight Breaking up the bars of the good old prison Who ever returned unstained from such a fight?  An unhappy generation with  happy pictures Ashamed of a broken heart hidden behin

Miss Ya

Miss your memories, miss your smell Miss the stories you used to tell, With your shine, with your rain How you washed away all the pain; Miss those lovely days When your sand used to kiss my feet, As I dated time by your bays Miss those turquoise waves that used to hit; Miss those starry nights Staring at your mesmerizing skies, Miss those lovely sights Now your breath is filled with sighs. Miss your cries on the leafy tops Your warm hugs that I used to feel, Miss your tears hidden as dew drops Your beauty that almost felt reel; Miss your charm in spring and fall Transformed to a rainbow paradise, Miss your voice when you used to call Through the crickets,it felt so nice. Miss your laugh when you used to sway And dance in the wintry nights, Miss your comfy lap I used to lay Watching the creative kites. Miss your embrace, miss your smiles Lost in the sphere of honks and breaks, Miss your beauty, lost in files Miss your ripples on your lakes. Miss
