Through the Shadows

I wish it was a bit more fun Why are we always on the run? Working through the day and night Fight until we see the light Wish you would tell me your plan 'Coz it's no longer according to mine I still strive to be your best fan A little bit more of you to shine It all feels like a never ending mess All remnants of a frustrated case Maybe you're leading me through the maze I feel a little doubtful in the chase. But you're always there hidden from sight Faith is so blind, lemme close my eyes Leading me through shadows and light You're the only truth in my world of lies. Disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people Don't hunt for food anymore, its now the hunt for success that's for sale You know it this time I wasn't even cheating You saw how I gave my all How many more heart breaks greeting How many more times do you wanna see me fall? I still believe in you and only you Sometimes it's just way too dark Could it not be a bit more easy too? Doe...

Embracing Life -Out Now on Amazon and Kindle

'Embracing Life' is rhythmical composition of verses that are brave, calm and delightful. Verses that run on honesty. Verses that tell a unique story of their very own. Verses that can breathe and scream. Verses that resonate energy and human emotions. Verses that can bring a smile on your face in no time ,get you excited ,absorb your sorrows and turn them into beautiful life lessons or give you that much needed power to fight back. Verses that can make you nostalgic ,provide you solace or change your entire perspective on life and its elements as a whole . Verses that will live forever! The book is a collection of modern poetries that revolve around themes of romance, sweet and sour memories, childhood, nature, society, strength and resilience. The book is special because every single piece of poetry in the book has been sculpted from personal experiences and bits of imagination. The feelings inked on the pages are therefore pure, unvarnished and blissful. The book is funda...

18+2

Yes, I know it's all gone wrong Now I'm left with the broken songs; Instead of fighting all day long, Should have tried to make the sweet times more prolong! We are all tired of masking smiles My dreams look hazy hiding away  Just like a three million more miles I still look away, sighing and lying it's 'kay! No longer an immature teen Expectations in my mind are too keen Wish there was no body to lean The fake moments are never really seen. Eighteen and two long years more, All I think 'bout in my dreams and nightmares Makes my head a bit too sore All of these resembling a miserable bunch of uncertain dares. Counting up the ticks on the to-do list I made Wish I could be skilled enough to get paid Even the hopeful words now seem like a shooting spade! And every time I feel like it's way too much said; Then I'm gushed out of the building of this old city Now I miss that awful evaluation or maybe  Just a random pat on the back rather than pity Is it scary tha...

Perfect, Not Perfect

Behind closed doors when the curtain closes, Too many voices screaming through A few rooms extend to that of a million losses All they are obsessed with what was never true; Stumbling back falling in the globe of fake smiles Every bit so damn perfect ,never fails to leave cue, Expectations running ahead a million miles Leaving to deal with a state of Black and Blue! Falling back again ,pretending what we never saw Still making alive through thick and thin Invisible scratches on the pale skin, they like to draw  Hiding away from the world, away in the ripped jean. Perfect ,ever been so damn perfect Now it's scary to be the odd one out; Just like the fortune cookies burned beyond baked Never gets old what the fuss is all 'bout! That distant world of constant criticism All they do is judge at the first sight Breaking up the bars of the good old prison Who ever returned unstained from such a fight?  An unhappy generation with  happy pictures Ashamed of a broken heart h...

Toxic Connection

T onight's a nightmare swept beneath the rug O nly one to see was the cold mirror to shrug X enophobia falls weak to even face me I nking my way along I believe is the only key ' C ause waking up to pukes of night before isn't really my thing ! C onnecting little red dots in my memory O ver empathy isn't always the way to let go N o not the end of the world but to set free N ow just a lazy excuse to feel a bit low E nough said are the voices screaming C ursing in my head like any other day T oughening up the familiar fake smiling I nking my way again is what keeps it at bay O n the way to something more precious N ever in a million years would make another fuss. Diary of a Bookworm

Sneaking over Holmes’ shoulder I silently munch into words, And crawl onto the book holder Riding on the Chariot of Gods; Defeating Jules Verne I go round the world safe and sound In mere a week and reach the Baskerville’s hound. The ‘Famous Five’ and ‘Secret Seven’ make the best of my friend Dozing off against Shakespeare I meet my day’s end. But my Tuesdays are no usual as I spend my time with Morrie And have my bit of lunch with Anne in the War’s red glory, Then I board the Train to Pakistan And peep into a Brief History of Time as I learn The secrets of Narnia and its magic; The tales of Oliver Twist makes me pale and sick. The Diary of a Wimpy kid amuses me the most As I spend my leisure on Monte Cristo’s coast. I am a captive on a land Of print on paper in my hand, But do not be bothered, do not fear ‘coz I am a blissful captive here. Also Check out: Miss Ya

Lone Light

Lost in the city of star Found the lone glory of the Moon. Away you took your breath at noon, To play in that grave where you are. Often you have me for the walk, Looking in old grass with your feet; Come on the good clear summer street Lest you could hear an earnest knock! Never you had to break the tale, Nor could I choose to measure the time  Neither too close! no sad night-time Around me, lies an old black trail. Wild wanderer, from my past night, Never a star with snow and mist. A light from which I stood a fist Across the blizzard and past the fight. The sun was gold. The snow too gray, Pale as a cloud the morning met; Eyes like a full day in the net, Making all sweet part of this day. View us on Youtube:  Shreya's Poetry Also Check out: Miss Ya

Same Salt Chuck

They say we're on the same boat Floating slow but steady, A piece of nail in the heap of straw Doesn't matter what, they tell us to be ready; I say maybe not, just a fine line We're not on the same boat no not anymore; Just a bit different yet stuck in the same salt chuck The same blue with the mighty roar. Few peekaboo from the sturdy submarine Up or down swimming like a whale; Some wave smiling on the double deck Raining or not they have always have a tale. Some roam on the motorways Falling sometimes they seldom fail, Swimming in their grumpy face They love to feel the gale. A lot are on the wooden boats Rowing through the waters night or day, Scrambling till they reach the shore Smiling at the moonlight all along the dark bay. Can't you see the paper boats Wet and shaggy now shakily torn apart Bits and pieces yeah lying all around Look into their eyes, how time heals their heart And then there are those who fight until they die, The s...

Busy-Streets

Lost in the crowds of the busy street Misty eyes as they rung the final bell Turn back time where they used to meet, Forgotten lanes lead to the pain of hell. Remember those barren paths you left behind? How they flourish the way they never happened before, Imagine those moments that you never captured? How they put a smile even when you thought it was too hard! They took him instead of her Oh my dreaded tracks, you love to fade Flames so hot they took him afar Mourning peace bestowed upon the dead.   Busy streets, cars still go on, Miles apart they left me a bit torn.

Flashbacks

The same old books we've read before The same old chapter flipping back and forth, The same old words we've heard before The same old endings on the verge of henceforth. Like that stone on the table unturned Dried tears on the pillowcase, so sordid Hidden regrets smirk at the lessons learned Glistening shadows so well hid! Calm and lifeless on a Saturday morning , A bit too late to figure it out Bygone days, they come back with a little ping That's all they are always talking 'bout. Black smiles smeared on the lofty fences, Glaring at the drizzle through my misty lenses.

Words

How I loathe the way you break, speak and hurt, Capturing my mind all day and throughout the night, Your lawful lies make a scary art Oh my dreaded words, you toughen me to fight. Let me collate you to an unfaithful dagger? Just a bit more acidic and creepy. Sharp tongue aids the cold hearts of the attacker, But resilience brings back the old humanity. How you always crave to meet,Let me list the ways, I see you on the lips and flips of comments Thinking of your pretentious sound fills my days I like how you create those bents and vents. Now I must say we've got a whole lot of history Will never forget you my mean words whilst we're on this journey.

Break

Take a break and look around The world keeps running or trying to settle down, A pinch of happiness seems hard to be found . I know its getting dark stars shoot by Strings of guitar brushing past your soul, Its has been now hours catching up with the lie. So close to feeling what ya never felt Can't say different as history repeats, So close to seeing that ya never dealt. Take a break, live in the moment now Little conversations stuck in coffee breaks, Bake a cake or just make a dough. All along walking through the woods A little yellow leaf peeking at me, All along singing past the trail in my hood. Running back home with sunshine chasing Shadows smiling on the autumn floor, Taking along the sweet memories so amazing. Sometimes just need to let it all go Eyes lit up at the sound of ding dong, Sometimes let's try not to feel so low. Freshen up all those crazy midnights A ray of hope even in dark alleyways, Party all night and twist in dim light...

End Credits

The screen goes blank as lights go out Flipping anxiously over the last page The credits roll names they never shout Feels like your life story on that stage Minutes go by as the seats go up Ending with peace what feels like the last chapter They made it easy names they wait to scroll up Credits that are lost in the closed jar Names that are content it did so well Recognition never really rang a bell. Credits keep rolling like some weird patterns on screen So many names it seems unending All forgotten once it is seen Like fleeting memories of one who gave you the wing Applauding all in the name of the job They've all got the surname of unsung heroes No place in memories they fail to rob Lost with them their highs and their lows Credits roll up like some fake promises Bound to forget with days passing days.   Appreciation most call it a distant affair Unlike a few who recall the help Yet there are a few tagged with Rare The ones who made you yourself Names...

House of Mirrors

When I stand before the mirror It's like a glimpse of illusions I see Having goosebumps of horror Its hard to believe whether its me! 'Cause there are a hundred faces Staring blankly in the bright light I see a gleeful smile through braces; Jumping with delight Or an anguished face tying the laces, Getting prepared for the fight. In the cold and pale moonlight Its all a different story With depression at its height And the quickly fading glory Like dew drops on autumn's yellow, I see tears on her rosy cheeks Like a ghostly figure she mixes with the pillow How desperately its only happiness she seeks--- And she stumbles down the stairs With the pang of separation in heart, For whom the most she cares But alas away they all dart As the sun rays breakthrough The window panes show a new face Learning from past it grew With absolutely no sorrow as a trace. When daylight hugs her embrace Stars shine in her eyes Wind kisses her red cheeks With t...

Miles Apart

Rising up and shining so pristine Disappearing each time it meets my eye The known visual seems unseen Almost blocked by that cursed tie All those familiar words Now lost in the lovely wood Fighting the unknown with the inky swords It no longer depends on the mood Hard to tell what it really means As colors flicker through The grayish cloudy scenes. Lost in the woods now it's too late A fragment of the distant past Maybe an unsolved mystery of fate Incomplete wishes yeah they last Flickering in glimpses all night long Sighs and smiles a pretty collab Feeling alive again in the words of song Now stuck with the collars in the lab Torn apart a painful understatement Hidden away below the basement. Writing down thoughts a waste of time All seems wasted as life gives lime Incomplete stories take a turn Those uncertain goodbyes all earn Incomplete hold ups mixed with guilt As midnight struck fixed with quilt Now that the Pandora's box is open Let...

En Route

Running on the wheels Feels like chasing the stars Sometimes the brake, sometimes the gear Flying solo in the ocean of cars Waves thrashing on the sandy rocks Let's jump off that cliff,oh so sweet Flamingos painting pink on the docks This vacation is so very lit ! Hiking up the snowy trail Yeah the air is a bit more fresh Pretty diamonds falling, they say its hail The husky newborns are a cute mess. The love of life attached to that cup The same old cappuccino tastes like magic Those familiar songs a jingle to the ears All but the feeling captured in a click! Meetings with strangers a happy exchange Starlit skies touching the soul Time flies as nights change Playing like strings with the grass beneath . Cascading waterfalls a sight to behold Rainbows painting the horizon Strolling on the frozen lake embracing the cold Snowflakes settling down on the dazzling white! Trails in forests weave a mystery tale Kayaking on the mirror a dream come true Foun...

Apologies

It's been a while and a lot messed up Be it the mighty leopard or a cute pup Apologies that fall too short To compensate the abusive rot Apologies that last no longer than a few day Just to keep the outrage at bay Pins that stick out beneath the sandwich Bloody mouths and posts now left lessons to teach Kindness a word seems too alien dont ya think? Apologies to those who turn their tails pink Only to see our blissful smile Fruits now a deadly trap lying on the aisle Some say it's an unfortunate error Maybe just one in a millions terror Hanging like a pendulum from the dusty ceiling Troubling others never makes you the king Some believe it's a trophy Whether it's the injured ele or the dead bee It's all a shame be it the shiny horn Or just disturbing the not yet newborn Sighs and lies all on the same plate Apologies that are always too late! Be it own species or a different one Apologies to all who have felt the pain It's sad to awak...

Chaotic Night

Sliding up the blinds light fills in Yet a bit dull let the sunshine decide The storm has passed silence laughs Yeah a bit anxious as broken hearts collide No matter what thoughts never lie The world much darker than I thought it would be Raindrops streaming tears run dry The walls much harder than I expected them to be! Lightening screams a distant affair Yeah a bit too loud let thunder decide The night is over or as they say Yeah a little too bright as the shades reside Come on not another guilty survivor's guide No not again I can relate too much Shattered words plastered back Words to communicate but don't they touch? Gale howls brushing past the panes Yeah looks deadly let the waves decide Might even walk through hell With a glistening smile nowhere to hide Hold on wait ,wait a little longer All along all I hear are endless sighs Wait till I'm washed away by the river of desires All through midnight I stare at the smiling lies. Snow whitens...

Haunted

Tiny shadows lurking in the hallway Following you like a creep they sway Melting into darkness, the silence So errie, you might even lose sense; Cracking up the wooden stairs Footsteps that you never heard The bravest of the bravest dares Lost when the real spook is shared. Feel someone knocking the door Isn't there a bell to ring? Open it and freeze to your floor To see you're the one to ping; Stumbling back, you break down in tears The bed you left is no more empty Yet not reached the height of fears When you spot you're sleeping,so pretty . Every night, you grab a midnight snack With your buddy, you warned to behave Taken aback as you turn your back Only to watch him drifting to his grave; Finding a shoulder to rest on In the now broken elevator Wait for a second, hold on Weren't you alone in here? You were dreaming, sound asleep Someone tried to choke you up Jolting awake from your night sleep Panting for stale breath, you sat up; Only to see a...
